Dental Bonding
- Patient was unhappy with the crookedness and appearance of the crown on her upper right maxillary central incisor and overall appearance of her upper front teeth. The crown on #8 was an older porcelain fused to metal (PFM) crown with the metal from the crown visible. The crown on #8 was crooked and too wide and not symmetrical to the natural tooth next to it.
- Bonding was performed on tooth #9 to widen the appearance of #9 and give symmetry to her upper front 2 teeth (teeth #8 & #9). A new all porcelain/ceramic crown was placed on tooth #8 replacing the old porcelain fused to metal (PFM) crown on #8.
- Patient was very happy with the final result. The bonding and the crown preparation were completed in the first visit and the patient wore a temporary crown for 2 weeks. On the second visit (2 weeks later) the temporary crown was removed and the lab fabricated all porcelain crown on tooth #8 was cemented into place. Final photos were also taken on the second visit.

Bonding was presented as a treatment option and an alternative to orthodontic treatment.

- Composite bonding was performed on tooth #10 to widen the tooth in appearance and close the gap he was unhappy with.
- The patient was pleased with the final result. The entire procedure took ~ 40 minutes and was able to be done without any anesthesia.
Dental Implants
- Patient presented with tooth #9 broken in an accident down to the gum line. Upper left maxillary central incisor (tooth #9) was not able to be saved. Pt. was also unhappy with crowns next to the fractured tooth and overall color and appearance of his teeth and smile. Custom bleaching trays were recommended to whiten all of his teeth. Extraction of tooth #9 and replacement with implant crown #9 was recommended along with replacement of older crowns on teeth #’s: 7, 8, and 10.
- Models of his teeth were taken for fabrication of at home bleaching trays for both upper and lower teeth. Patient wore bleaching trays for 30 minutes/day for 3 weeks to whiten his teeth. Pt. was referred to the surgeon for extraction and implant placement of tooth #9. Pt. wore a flipper or temporary maxillary partial denture during healing and integration of implant on #9 (~ 4 months). Next the older crowns were removed and teeth prepared for new crowns. Models were taken for fabrication of all ceramic crowns on teeth #’s: 7, 8, and 10 along with fabrication of custom abutment and all porcelain crown on #9.
- The patient was very happy with the final result. The entire treatment took ~ 8 months with about 6 months of time for healing of the extraction site and implant integration.
Porcelain Crowns
- The patient presented with his front teeth broken and chipped over time. He was unhappy with the overall look and color of his upper front teeth when he smiled. He had done bonding over the years on the front teeth to close gaps. The bonding continued to chip and deteriorate in color over time. He wanted a better looking and longer term solution for his smile. Crowns on his maxillary front 6 teeth (#’s: 6-11) were proposed. Pt. requested the teeth to be whiter than his natural teeth color.
- The 6 teeth were prepared for crowns and the patient wore temporary crowns for 3 weeks while the lab was fabricating the 6 all porcelain crowns. The 1st visit took 3 hours to prepare the teeth for the crowns and fabricate his temporary crowns. The crowns were delivered on the second visit which took 60 minutes.
