The “magic” of versatile, natural-looking, stain-resistant porcelain veneers … makes imperfections disappear!

Dr. Douglas Hoppe makes cosmetic imperfections, from chips to gaps between teeth, disappear! The “magic” is in his artistry and technical expertise in preparing, designing, and placing dental veneers. This popular cosmetic dentistry treatment quite literally disguises imperfections in the smile. So, you can enjoy confidence-boosting, dazzling white, beautifully aligned, and otherwise balanced teeth in just a few visits to our office in Eaton Rapids, Michigan.

Veneers: Take a big bite out of aesthetic concerns!

Veneers are thin layers of tooth-colored materials, such as ceramics like stain-resistant porcelain or high-performance plastics (composite resin). Modern veneers are so thin that typically very little natural tooth enamel is required to be removed to complete the procedure. Usually, the enamel removed to accommodate the veneer is no thicker than a fingernail or contact lens. This feature of modern, ultra-thin veneers helps minimize tooth sensitivity and to present a more conservative, tooth-preserving procedure for our valued patients. Furthermore, this characteristic also helps to ensure the strongest bond between the natural tooth and the veneer that is placed and secured on top of it.

In consultation with you, Dr. Hoppe may recommend veneers to disguise cosmetic concerns not limited to the following:

  • Stubborn intrinsic discoloration that is resistant to professional whitening treatments
  • Very dark yellow, brown, or orange stains on the teeth
  • Irregularities in the shape or contour of a tooth
  • Chips and other surface imperfections
  • Gaps between the teeth
  • Other minor spacing issues that do not require orthodontic treatment
  • Small cracks or fractures
  • A poorly-sized tooth; for instance, we can add length to an overly short or worn-down tooth

Bringing out the natural, beautiful best in your smile!

Generally, after a very small amount of enamel has been removed, we collect information about the tooth (or teeth) to be treated. This information is then sent to our lab, which makes your permanent veneers. To protect the prepared tooth, we can apply provisional or temporary veneers. Once the permanent ones are ready, you return to our office. So, we can remove the temporaries and ensure that the permanent veneers look and feel great before securing them to the front surfaces of the visible, formerly “imperfect” teeth in your smile. And that is all it takes to get a dramatically improved smile for many years! Of course, we can discuss alternatives such as dental bonding and ways to protect the porcelain or other dental material from damage over time. Call (517) 667-7066 to reach your partners in oral health – the team at the office of Douglas Hoppe DDS in Eaton Rapids, MI. We look forward to visiting with you in person and answering any questions you may have.

Veneers

Veneers
Veneers are thin handcrafted porcelain shields worn on the front of the tooth which improve the appearance of teeth that are chipped, cracked, stained or worn. Veneers are thin as contact lenses, and are an aesthetically pleasing option of closing gaps, lengthening teeth, and providing symmetry to make your smile more natural. Veneers are intended to last for many years without changing color. They are one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in dentistry. Ask your dentist if veneers may be right for you.
